The centralised photovoltaic power business mainly comprises the development, investment, design, procurement, construction and operation of large-scale centralised photovoltaic power plants, and the integration and research and development of photovoltaic power generation and related technologies. As at 31 December 2021, 53 centralised photovoltaic power plants with a total on-grid capacity of 2,252MW were held by the Group had been put into operation.
The Group participates in the construction of large-scale photovoltaic power plants in various forms, such as national Top Runner Program and centralised photovoltaic poverty alleviation projects. During the year, the Group focused on promoting the development of grid parity projects for wind power and photovoltaic power generation, and makes persistent efforts on cost reduction, efficiency enhancement and technological innovation.
Leveraging various distributed resources of BEWG and Tus-Holdings, the Group has taken the initiative on developing distributed photovoltaic power by way of developing business models such as "photovoltaic power + water plant" and rooftop photovoltaic power to achieve steady growth.


Under the situation and requirements of strictly controlling the total amount and intensity of traditional energy consumption and continuous improvement of the ecological environment, especially the announcement of accomplishment of "CO2 Emissions Peak" and "Carbon Neutrality" goals, wind power as a green and clean energy, will become the main strategic energy in the PRC in the future. With the Group's expertise and professional team in, among others, investing, developing and managing wind and other clean energy power businesses, the Group is optimistic on continuously developing its Wind Power Business to contribute effort in building up a green future of the PRC.
As at 31 December 2021, the Group obtained high-quality projects by ways of self-development, joint development, acquisitions, etc., and the aggregate capacity of the grid-connected, under-construction and approved-to-construct wind power projects reached over 1,400MW, mainly located in Hebei Province, Henan Province and Shandong Province, which mainly situated in wind resource area IV as promulgated by the National Development and Reform Commission. Among which, 13 projects with an aggregate on-grid capacity of 588MW were held by the Group and in operation.
Clean heat supply represents the production of low emission heat through the utilisation of clean energies and the supply of such heat to end users. With various supportive government policies issued including but not limited to the issuance of the "Notice on the Winter Clean Heat Plan (2017 to 2021) of the Northern China*"(《關於印發北方地區冬季清潔取暖規劃 (2017-2021年)的通知》) jointly by ten government authorities in December 2017 and the "Notice on the Budget for Air Pollution Prevention and Control in 2019*" (《關於下達 2019 年度大氣污染防治資金預算的通知》)by the Ministry of Finance in June 2019, the Clean Heat Supply Business shall have a favourable business prospects.
As at 31 December 2021, through development and acquisition, the Group owns 14 projects in operation with an aggregate actual clean heat supply area of reached approximately 49.7 million square meters and the number of heat supply services users of approximately 310,478 households, which located in Henan, Jiangsu, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Liaoning, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and other provinces were in operation through the utilisation of clean energies such as natural gas, electricity, geothermal energy, biomass energy, photovoltaic power, industrial excess heat energy, clean coal (ultra-low emission) energy, river water source, etc..
Energy storage business, mainly featuring investments in independent energy storage power plants, photovoltaic power generation and storage, wind power generation and storage and micro-grid projects, offers full-life cycle and one-stop services from the early-stage development, design, investment, construction to operation and maintenance.
Energy storage is an important component and a key supporting technology for smart grid, energy systems with high proportion level of renewable energy and "internet plus" smart energy, which offers peak shaving, frequency modulation, back-up and demand-supply response support and other services for the grid operation, and is an important mean to enhance the flexibility, cost-effectiveness and safety of the traditional power system. At the same time, energy storage can significantly enhance the consumption level of renewable energy such as photovoltaic and wind power and support distributed power and microgrid, and is a key technology to facilitate the clean energy power replacement. Also, energy storage can promote multi-energy complement and the opening and sharing, and the trading flexibility of energy production and consumption, and is a core foundation for constructing energy internet, advancing power system reform and facilitating the development of new energy business models, and there is a broad development prospect.
The Group's energy storage technology and development are widely recognised by the industry. At the 8th China International Energy Storage Conference organised by the committee of China International Energy Storage Conference, the Group was awarded the "2018 China Energy Storage Industry Best Photovoltaic Storage Integration Solution Award", the "2018 China Energy Storage Industry Best System Integration Solution Supplier Award", and the "2018 China Energy Storage Industry Best Design Institution Award". Besides, at the 2018 Global Solar and Energy Storage Congress and Expo organised by Eastern China Energy Storage Alliance, the Group was awarded the "Global Excellent Investors Award" and the "Best Micro-grid Application Project of the Energy Storage Industry". In 2019, the Group also won the "2019 China Energy Storage Industry Best Integrated Energy Service Providers Award", the "2019 China Energy Storage Industry Best Design Institutions Award" and the "2019 China Energy Storage Industry Most Influential Enterprises Award" from the committee of China International Energy Storage Conference and China Energy Storage Web, as well as the "10 Best Energy Storage Project Operators of 2019" from the committee of Energy Storage International Conference.
